Beijing, Nov. 8 (Xinhua, by Wang Huiwen) -- Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) International Innovation Cooperation and Development Forum was held in Beijing on November 7. As one of the important sessions of the 3rd World Science and Technology Development Forum, this forum brought together guests of science and technology, investment, and other industries from China and overseas to carry out in-depth discussions around the theme of "openness, trust, cooperation". The aim is to build an open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial platform for international science and technology exchanges and cooperation. The platform promoted the integration of industry, science and technology, and investment. It facilitated international innovation cooperation among small and medium-sized enterprises to address global risks and challenges.

Wang Jinzhan, Executive Secretary of CAST, Liang Zhifeng, Director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise, and Lu Yaohua, Executive Vice President of the China Federation of Industrial Economics, attended and delivered speeches. In his speech, Wang said that it is necessary to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship by supporting innovation and developing science and technology-based SMEs. It is also vital to accelerate the green transformation and lead industry upgrades with the new development concepts. Deeper open cooperations will drive SMEs to integrate into global innovation networks. Liang Zhifeng pointed out that to promote SME innovation and cooperation, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms, which enable SMEs to connect to global innovation resources, participate in international cooperation in the digital economy, and promote the construction of cooperation zones for SMEs both from China and abroad. Lu Yaohua said that the China Federation of Industrial Economics would give full play to its role as a bridge and link between industry associations, unite and lead the majority of SMEs in the new journey of the second-century goal to forge ahead and make pioneering innovation.

The forum was sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), organized by the China Federation of Industrial Economics, China Electronic Chamber of Commerce, Economic Department of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Chinese Institute of Electronics, Chinese Society of Instrumentation, and co-organized by Service Center for Enterprise Innovation (SCEI) of CAST, and Industry and Technology Alliances in Z-Park. About 60 representatives from different industries attended the forum, and around 500,000 viewers watched the live broadcast online through the "Innovation China" platform.
