As a core infrastructure of the digital economy, the large-scale deployment of the Internet of Things (IOT) has long faced common industry challenges including low-power endurance, anti-interference in complex environments, and networking compatibility across multiple scenarios. EBYTE, a tech firm founded in southwest China, has embodied the trajectory of Chinese tech enterprises: addressing industry pain points, tackling core technologies, and evolving from a follower to an industry leader over its 14-year development history.
Founded in 2012, EBYTE adheres to the "technology-driven" core strategy. In 2013–2014, it built an 8-member R&D team and 16-member sales team, launched core product lines including RF modules, LoRa modules and digital radios, and quickly entered the industrial communication market. Since 2016, its products successively obtained domestic and international authoritative certifications such as MIC, FCC, CE, RoHS, CCC and ISO9001, paving the way for global sales expansion.
"Back then, we practically stationed ourselves at clients' factories, refining product parameters repeatedly based on on-site scenarios. Many of our current star products were iterated and shaped during that period," recalled EBYTE founder, noting that early technology accumulation and customer service experience laid a solid foundation for subsequent expansion of the product portfolio.
In 2018, EBYTE was recognized as a national high-tech enterprise and elected as the executive chairman unit of the Chengdu IOT industry development alliance, gaining widespread recognition for its industry standing.
In March 2018, to verify communication reliability in complex terrains such as plateaus and mountains, and address the industry pain point of rapid signal attenuation in high-altitude, low-temperature, and highly obstructed scenarios, the testing team brought e90-dtu and e32 series products to Mount Balang in Sichuan (at an altitude of approximately 4,500 meters) to conduct long-distance communication tests in snowy mountain conditions. After trekking for 5 hours in -20°c temperatures to reach the summit, the team repeatedly adjusted the dynamic power adjustment algorithm, ultimately achieving a maximum communication distance of 32 kilometers, meeting design expectations and accumulating core data for applications in complex scenarios such as plateaus, mountains, and forests.
2019–2021: Entered rapid expansion phase: built in-house SMT workshop, launched OEM/PCBA services, became Texas Instruments (TI) third-party design partner, set up offices in Beijing, Shenzhen and other cities, and moved into a 6,000㎡ industrial park in 2021. Business expanded from standalone communication modules to full-stack solutions for industrial automation, smart agriculture and other scenarios, forming a full-category product ecosystem covering perception, transmission and application layers.
